Mark Di Noia

I started my first business when I was just 10 years old, mowing lawns in my hometown suburb. Even then, I loved the thrill of being an entrepreneur, creating value and being rewarded for it. I knew early on that business would become a passion I would pursue, all of my life.

Fast forward to now and I have a 20-year history of owning and operating successful businesses across a variety of industries and building companies before successfully exiting them when the time was right.

At 21 years of age, I co-owned and operated two fuel retailing businesses with annual revenues of $14m and 25 staff, responsible for all day-to-day management and P&L responsibility for the business. I successfully negotiated a head lease of both sites to Caltex Australia Ltd and Woolworths Ltd, before selling both freehold properties in 2009.

Then aged 27, I co-owned and managed a successful mid-tier Sydney-based construction business, which grew to 70 full-time staff and circa $65m in revenues. It was listed on the BRW Fastest 100 growing companies in Australia in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

During this period, I partnered with a facilitator and implemented EOS® – the Entrepreneurial Operating System – into my own company. In essence, EOS® is a complete set of simple concepts and practical tools that have helped thousands of entrepreneurs get what they want from their businesses. I used these tools to achieve significant growth and build a winning leadership team to lead my company into the future.

It became instrumental to my company’s success as we achieved unprecedented profitable growth. This discovery ignited my passion to share the system with other like-minded business owners, partnering with them to create winning leadership teams that achieve their company’s vision.

The EOS Model

The EOS Model™ provides a visual illustration of the Six Key Components™ of any business that must be managed and strengthened to be a great business. This model applies to big and small businesses alike, in any industry.

The Six Key Components of Any Business

Vision. Strengthening this component means getting everyone in the organisation 100 percent on the same page with where you’re going and how you’re going to get there.

People. Simply put, we can’t do it without great people. This means surrounding yourself with great people, top to bottom, because you can’t achieve a great vision without a great team.

Data. This means cutting through all the feelings, personalities, opinions and egos and boiling your organisation down to a handful of objective numbers that give you an absolute pulse on where things are.

With the Vision, People, and Data Components strong, you start to create a lucid, transparent, open and honest organisation where everything becomes more visible and you start to “smoke out all the issues,” which leads to…

Issues. Strengthening this component means becoming great at solving problems throughout the organisation – setting them up, knocking them down and making them go away forever.

Process. This is the secret ingredient in your organisation. This means “systemising” your business by identifying and documenting the core processes that define the way to run your business. You’ll need to get everyone on the same page with what the essential procedural steps are, and then get everyone to follow them to create consistency and scalability in your organisation.

Traction®. This means bringing discipline and accountability into the organisation – becoming great at execution – taking the vision down to the ground and making it real.
